I seem to be inching towards the GNOME desktop again.
KDE is definitely a very well integrated desktop which I still use. Last time I shifted to GNOME was the infamous
KDE (2.0) release with Redhat 7.1 which ruined the perfect 1.2 release that shipped with Redhat 7.0.
Infact I stayed with GNOME for a long time after that till I installed Mandrake 10 with the latest polished very responsive KDE 3.2.x . And no small part in my conversion was played by this nice guy called Sirtaj Singh
However the killer IM is again Gaim instead of Kopete.
The e-mail client is again (well almost) Evolution though I continue to use Kmail as well.
Favorite 'browser' is still the light and fast konquerer.
Yahoo.......... instant messaging is fixed again (they broke it again yesterday) on gaim 0.79. This one was real quick. Though I had a bit of hard time figuring out where to get the RPMs for mozilla-nss-devel, mozilla-nspr-devel to get the gaim to compile. I wish I could use Fedora again but then all the tweaking that goes into making a desktop usable is lost once you change the distro. Looks I am no longer an 'enthusiast' for distros.
So which is my favorite Desktop?
Still KDE :-)
