However my checklist(for windows only) when I get such errors
1. Check if your blackberry is on EDGE/GPRS network
2. Your blackberry device manager is running and is able to see the blackberry device.
3. Test your Desktop Manager to see if you can access the blackberry and back up data on it.
4. See if correct date/time is set on your blackberry device.
5. Test your "standard modem" to see if it responds to the modem command set (on windows you can use the device manager to "query modem" )
6. If all of the above conditions are met, reset your device by removing the battery and reboot your computer(especially if it is windows)
